How's this for irony... I go to college to learn about computers and what is the first thing out of the professor's mouth... "Go visit this site, it can teach everything that I can." Sure, he says that after I shell out $50 for a book! Thanks for such a great site!

An EXCELLENT site. As the production manager for a computer OEM, I find the site most useful in preparing traing classes for new hire and sales personnel. The style is precise and understandable for both the newcomers and old dogs alike, and the clarity of the information presented is such that the complex functions of all the components can be easily grasped by all, yet the technical aspects are of use to those of us in the industry as well. I'm certain you put a tremendous amount of time and energy into it, and it shows. You get my vote for one of the best web sites on the net!

It's nice to know that one can spend a Sunday afternoon
researching in the comfort of one's home as the information
here is as good if not better than what a local library has
to offer here. I commend you for your efforts to expand the
minds of so many individuals in the world who are willing to
learn more on their chosen field of study or just for
seeking knowledge.

I found this to be a good primer in PC hardware.
I am about to buy/construct a home PC and your
site has helped me to know what to look for in components.

If you have any experience with PC building kits,
please send me a quick email with some good URLs for PC kit
suppliers and/or building/configuring assistance websites.

Thanks for the great job and huge effort on this site.
By the way, you write in the english language quite well...
even better than some native speakers of english. There
are a few spelling and grammar errors, but not that many.

Best regards and many thanks,

Hello,
I found this site very interesting and also very challageing It packed with great info I read just about everything. I know I'll be back no one can take in all info in one shot. My father just build me a new computer and alot of stuff he was talking to me about made no sense. This site sure has explained alot. Now I understand some of what he was talking about. Now I can relate to his computer language (well some of it anyway) Won't he be surprized. I was looking for a site where I could find out how to fix a couple of problems I have. Most sites only let you type a key word and it takes hours to find exactly what one needs. If you know of any sites where you can describe that exact problem with a pc and recieve feedback on how to fix Please Please E-mail me. I will definatley recommend this site to others. Thank you for making this site possible.

I accidentally found your site a little while ago, while trying to find help with a flatbed scanner connection problem. Not being very familiar with the jartgones used by 'experienced' IT professionals, I had almost given up finding a solution.

I don't want to go overboard, but when I began reading the info(especially regarding resource settings, bios etc.)I had the answer to my problem worked out and an understanding of the issue as well.
It was really good to find a support provider, who seemed to understand that to require support you obviously aren't so familar with I.T. that you are able to interpret 'solutions' expressed in a language that required a level of expertise to understand, that was in excess of the calibre of the question.

In other words, it was great to see an easily understood answer to a not very complex question, that was bugging the hell out of a relative novice.

thank you,

Dear Sir,
I will borrow the comments sent by Eng. Rebecca Ryan@hp.com because it reflects exactly what I feel when I discovered this interested site.
This is such a great website! I am a Software Engineer at a large petroleum company. I still have lots to learn about the PCs. I was very fortunate to find this web site as I was searching for information on USBs.This site provides a wealth of excellent information. It is well written and illustrated so that it is easy to understand. I will recommend it to many people. I am very very impressed with the quality of the work presented here.

Thank you so much for your generosity of sharing the
information on the web.

Sincerely,
Mahmoud El-Ali

I am currently teaching inner-city teens some marketable skills where computer technology is concerned. I have been searching for a while for a resource such as this. I would like to know where may I purchase/acquire hard copy of some of your books?

A beautiful, clear site which has many "good to know" goodies aboard.
Especially when you are looking for a new PC.

This is a cool site! Being a techie who have laid chasing PC hardware over the last year, I am pleasantly surprised to find that most of the latest developments are explained here in layman terms. Well done!!
Perhaps a index item - What's New might be useful.
