General Packet Radio Service.

A new wireless standard for digital cell phones. The exciting thing is that the net uses a packet switch. That means that all cell phones on the net in principle are open and connected to each other - all the time. Data are only sent when needed. Transmission speed: 128 kbps. This standard will be excellent for cell phone Internet coupling. It will probably be an important development in the first years of the new millennium
