A byte consists normally of 8 bits. A bit is the basic unit for electronic data.

1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte (KB).

1024 KB = 1 megabyte (MB).

1024 MB = 1 gigabyte (GB).

1024 GB = 1 terabyte (TB).
